Instructional Philosophy

The computer age and the explosion of multimedia materials in business, education, and recreation have made them necessary components of our everyday lives. Today, more than ever before, the daily lives of individuals and the success of business are dependent upon the effectiveness of textual, graphical, and electronic communication. Individuals who can demonstrate proficiency in understanding and manipulating these multimedia materials will be more effective, successful employees and entrepreneurs as well as more productive, informed members of society.

Students are expected to meet all the course goals listed and demonstrate their understanding and use of the underlying concepts. The instruction will be heavily laboratory project and applications-based with teacher demonstration and minimum of lecture. Students will work independently on daily assignments and some projects and collectively on selected projects. Assignments will require students to draw upon academic skills in mathematics, language arts, visual arts, and keyboarding/computer usage.

**Lab will be open at 7:30 a.m. each day for additional help or after school, pending arrangement with instructor.
